We met and talked about the plans for Computer Club. We made sure that Visual Studio Express was installed on the student PCs. We ran into some technical problems getting Mr. Buhl’s laptop on the network to show the new Computer Club website, but we were able to get past that.
The question was put forward to the attending students: What do you want to get out of this class/club?
The following were the answers:
Chris Bloom: I want to learn to create a unique program on my own. (Self sufficiency)
Bianka: I want to create a game.
Mitchell: I want to make some sort of game.
Bryanna: I want to make a game.
Michelle: I’ll learn whatever Mr. Buhl is willing to teach. Nothing specific.
Michael: I have three things: 1. I want to learn how to code in Minecraft, 2. I want to learn how to create a game, 3. I want to learn how to create a website.
Chris Buhl: I want to make a digital picture that can be manipulated.
We talked about the different kinds of games we’ll be able to make in the club. Intense graphical games will be challenging, as we don’t have the tools available to us. We talked about possibly doing a MadLibs game this year.
