Log Date: 4/23/99 Log Cast: Tronos (NPC), Howie, Adian, Phil Log Intro: With the outbreak of war between Caspar and the Empire, the New Republic has been doing what it can to aid the harried Caspar system - and accordingly, a fleet of New Republic ships, including the _Deliverance_, finds itself in combat with an entire Imperial battle fleet... (This log was submitted to the NR logs archive by Howie. The Imperial forces and Admiral Tronos were NPC'd by Donivan.) ---------- CS-6542 | Just as several moments before and not a second too soon more hyperspace exit flashes begin to shine. Unlike last time they are bright and many. Fourteen flashes some in pairs some not. A fleet to match any other in this galaxy one of the main Imperial Battle groups. Indeed with knowledge of the Deliverance in their space the Empire will go to any length to destroy the New Republic Navy's Jewel. Two second generation Imperial star destroyers are the main guns of this fleet accompanied by an armada of support. Two escort carriers two strike cruisers. Along with those come two groups of four ships one of Carrack Cruisers the other of the newer Lancer frigates. The last and possibly least ship in the system is an interdictor cruiser. The Imperial armada is an intimidating sight indeed. Deflector shields flicker on the larger ships and fighters begin streem out instantly. Well prepared for this engagement the fighter groups consist of brand new tie interceptors tie bombers as well as two squadrons of scimitar bombers from one ISD each. Once more the radio comes to life the volume great a voice full of base booming "This is the Third Impierial Battle Group under command of Admiral Tronos. Rebel vesils you have invaded space under Imperial control. Without provocation attacked and destroyed Imperial ships. You have commited acts of war. Prepare to pay for them..." For a moment there is silance. "You have an alternative. Surrender to us now and only the aliens will be executed. The rest of you will live." CS-9139 | "Those terms are unacceptable - Admiral and it should be us who is to offer you to surrender. Surrender to us and all who does not oppose us will live. If you do not surrender - you will regret your decision and have countless deaths in your battle group." Comes the reply from the Deliverance. The New Republic ships finish their assault on the Victory Class Star Destroyer - leaving it in very bad shape - disabled and drifting. The ships slowly regroup with themselves - the six gunships forming an outer ring - the four assault frigates forming the middle - and the three Star Cruisers forming the core. The two Escort Carriers immediately launches squadrons after squadrons of fighters - staying back and away from the fight. "This is your last warning - Admiral." Howie says, "Fighters from the Deliverance, quickly redock with the Deliverance, we're going to launch you after the plan is implemented. The Fighters from the carriers will keep the TIEs at bay." Howie turns his gaze from the view screen to Phil, "Cadet, get ready to put full power into the propulsion system so that we have flank speed. We're going to cut right through the fleet and destroyer that blasted Interdictor. Adian comes quickly onto the bridge, wrestling with his flightsuit, looking for the commanding officer... Howie is currently taking charge of this task force for now as the Commodore is busy coordinating the efforts with the small crafts in the task force. "Alright, Cadet, get ready to signal the rest of the fleet to engage engines at flank speed." Howie says, "Fighters, when you are launched again, your main target will be that Imperial Interdictor, we must destroy it or force it to shut down its gravity wells in order for us to escape." Phil presses a few buttons and the readout screen goes to a overview of the battle then he presses another button focusing in on the Imperial armada Adian looks up to see dauthus deep in thought and busy with action and scans the room. His eye quickly spots howie and he strides over, "Commander..." his tone is hurried and almost worried "Are we still out of the range of the Interdictor or is the deliverance caught yet?" CS-6542 |The third imperial battle group aranges into a large wedge formation much like the shape of it's second generation Imperial Star Destroyers. The first wave is composed of anti-starfighter power in the form of Lancer Frigates. A wedge of Carack cruisers soon follows. Behind this line-breaching formation stand the mighty second generation Imperial Star Destroyers that are followed by the two Escort Carriers that hold the sides of the Interdictor Cruiser. Fighters swarm from each ship carrying them like a hive of bees stirred with a stick. Lacking the all usual tin-can tie fighters they are replaced by squadrons of Tie Interceptors surround the incomming ships aranging into defensive and offensive wings. Several squadrons of interceptors merge with wings of Tie and Scimitar attack bombers to provide protection for them as well. This fleet seems to be well prepared and specifically armed to battle this exact configuration of New Republic ships with the goal of destroying it's jewel the Deliverance. The capital ship's batteries run hot and prepare for fire. "Wrong choise rebel scum. The wreckage of your ships will be used for monuments to the greatness of the Galactic Empire! Tronos out!" "The Deliverance is already in the gravity well, we can't out run it so we must destroy the center of the well which is the Interdictor." Darklighter replies quickly before turning back to the viewscreen, cursing as the Admiral rejects his offer. "Alright Ensign, inform the other Capital ships that we will be moving in flank speed, slashing through the Imperial formation and putting most of our firepower onto the Interdictor when we get the chance. Tell the Gunships to destroy the Imperial fighters, concentrate on the bombers." Phil presses some buttons and the readout screen shows the front of the Imperial armada then he presses another button and the readout screen shows a diagram of the area around the armada Howie says, "The first wave will be the A-Wings, your job is to tie up the Interdictor's laser batteries and try to knock them out. X-Wings are next and they do the same, launch your torpedoes and knock out the turrets. B-Wings, you'll be the drill of the group, just wreck havoc on the Interdictor." Adian says, "Commander... i have a way to take out that Interdictor..." he moves swiftly to the battle display, "a group of fighters can outrun the interdictor's well... if we send the ships through that battle line, they're toast, we make it look like the fighters are running for help... if they make a microjump here to here to here" he points out 3 points around the circumference of the gravity well, "they can come in behind the ship and launch torpedoes... it should take them 10 minutes to complete the jumps..." Howie shakes his head, "We don't have 10 minutes to spare, the Imperial fleet will be upon us very soon. And a quick slash we can take, we also have back up shield generators ready to go within nanoseconds of notice so we will not break apart. No doubt they will be coming at us with a charge and we'll pass them much more quickly. Surprise will be to our advantage, they'll never expect such a bold move." CS-9139 | The New Republic Task Force remains at a stand still - not closing the distance between themselves and the Imperial Armada. Some of the fighters that were already in the fight with the VSD returns to the Deliverance - letting the numerous fresh fighters replace them. The fighters out now quickly form a screen in front of the Capital ship - ready to repel any fighters the Imperial throw at them. "This message applies to any other Imperial ships - your Commander are ordering your deaths - turn back and head out of the battle - you will not be harmed." Adian shakes his head, "that is a good plan, but it will take the imperials 10 minutes to actually get in range, if we let the fighters go around while we wait and form up to punch through... if our ships hit them from the other side right when we start moving forward, it'll throw them off more..." Adian says, "three b-wings should do it..." Howie appears to be considering that plan, before shaking his head slightly, not fulling, "I don't think that would work, the gravity well is very hard to get out of, then they'll need extra time to compute the nav data because of the extra gravity well. And when they try to hype in, the well might stop them too far outside to do any good. I'm planning to dive right in like a dagger, and launch our three fighter squadrons." Phil presses a few buttons and the readout screen focuses on the Interdicter cruisor he then scans it and turns to Howie and says"The cruisor can't support shields while gravity wells are on prehaps we could fire a torpedo at them" Adian nods slowly, looking down at the layout... "I see what you mean." he notices something he had forgotten about... "What about our RAF's? they're on the other side of the downed Victory class, right? I see what you're doing here, should we finish off the Repressive and let the Assault frigates punch in the side as we go up the middle?" CS-6542 |The driving force of the Imperial fleet is clearly heard. Bright lights flicker along the hulls of the two humongous star destroyers almost like green holiday lights in the night sky. It is clear that they are not that at all in the seconds after. The capital beam lasers slam into the foreward shields of the deliverance. Even witht the boosted power sent to the lasers they can not hope to damage the the shields of the modified Mon Calamari cruiser at this range but intend it more as an insult a space slap. An intimidation device. Fighters break from escort positions along the fleet and stream toward the rebel ships at incredible speed openning fire as soon as in range. Bombers target the ships and cut loose with voleys of proton torpedoes directed only at the outer ring of gunships. Phil presses a few buttons and the readout screen focuses on the Repressive then he presses another button scanning it and then he turns to the commander and says"Sir our fighters could use the Repressive as cover from fire and then the ships will be attracted toward the Repressive and all stray fire will hit it" "Hm... I actually have a few plans in mind. I think I'm going to scratch the original plans and just start trading blows, then when we knock out their fighter support ships, I'll send in our fighters onto the Interdictor for the kill." The Commander replies, seeing that the Imperials have begun their advancement. He then shakes his head at Phil, "I don't think the Imperial objective is the Repressive, and I rather have our fighters in the fight. Alright, going to relaunch fighters again and start knocking out those ships." He looks back at Adian, "Planning to stay on the bridge or are you going back out?" Howie says, "Change of plans, launch again and your first objective is to take out those fighters. We'll clear those Lancers for you and when that is done, I'll give the word. That is when you'll thrust deeply into the Interdictor." Adian grins, "What would you like me to do?" Howie shrugs, "We'll be fine here if you prefer to go vape up some Imperial fighters." Phil presses a few buttons on the readout seeing a light flashing and focuses on the fire on the repressive then he turns to the commander and says"Two Star Destroyers have fired lasers into our forward shields" Howie nods to Phil, "That's okay, our shields are up to the task and their lasers won't be doing any damage to us." Adian nods and heads out quickly, pausing "Commander, I'm going to take a group of b-wings out around with the RAF's? We can punch in the sides and split the imperial attention..." "First, take out those bombers and some of the fighters, then help us knock out those Lancers, once they're out, we're going in for the big fish, that Interdictor." Darklighter nods to Adian, "May the Force be with you out there." SF-7590 launches from the belly of the Mon Cal cruiser and starts to head straight towards an engagement with the nearest star fighter attacking the fleet. The speedy A-wing moves in behind the one he's chasing and lets go a a volley of laser fire blanketing the tie with lethal fire. Phil presses a few buttons focusing in on the ghost squadren and showing the overview of the battle, then he presses another button zooming out for a overview of the battle then he flips a switch activating the long ranged scanners, the scanners powerup then he presses another button focusing in on the Imperial armada and scanning it then he turns to the commander and says"Sir prehaps if we could distract the lancer frigates and the other ships"he pauses pointing his finger at a area on the screen then says"We could distract them away from the cruisor allowing a squadren to go in and take it out" CS-9139 | The Cruiser ignores the little tap on the nose releasing its fighter again to play with the Imperial pilots. Right now - the New Republic Capital ship fills the space with laser fire - blanketing the path of the torpedoes intercepting some only letting a few lucky projectiles through. The shields of the Gunships hold for now as they quickly turn their attention onto the Imperial fighters - quad lasers and concussion missiles a given death for the fighters. The other NR Fighters intercept the Imperial squadrons - beginning their dance of death - veterans from the New Republic fighting with the younger and more inexperienced pilots of the Empire. The RAFs and Cruisers also engage their engines after the blanket fire - targeting the Lancer Frigates for now. The Cruisers follow up after the RAF - also focusing their fire on the Lancer Frigates. "Don't worry Cadet, if they don't have the Lancers after they are destroyed, our fighters will be free to dance amongst the Imperial ships and they'll be very deadly." Darklighter says as he watches the battle unfold. SF-7590 launches from the belly of the Mon Cal cruiser and starts to head straight towards an engagement with the nearest star fighter attacking the fleet. The speedy A-wing moves in behind the one he's chasing and lets go a a volley of laser fire blanketing the tie with lethal fire. SF-3766 emerges from the large Mon Calamari following closely behind SF-7590 pulling up into the wingman position. It swoops and zigs amidst the enemy fire and lets its lasers go wild barraging nearby enemies with shots. SF-4976 roars out of the deliverance's belly with the rest of the fighters spilling out and moving to engage the imperial fighters weapons hot and raging across space in front of it along with it's squadronmates finally picking up imperial fighters and engaging in close quarters... CS-6542 |The Imperial arrow of death closes on the circular formation of the New Republic fleet. The beam weapons once more come to life and begin to blaze. Both of the second gen. ISDs focus fire on the deliverance blasting her shields from the rear lines of the Imperial fleet. Clearly supperior in design to the older Mon Calamari ships the new ISDs manage to inflict damage while still out of the Mon Cal's weapon range. The fleets continue to close Lancers fill their job of taking on enemy stafighters blasting in every direction with their laser cannons successfuly breaking up several squadrons. Carack cruisers find their targets among the gunships as well opening fire two Carracks fiering on each of the two designated gunships. Fighters continue to pour from the escort carriers and star destroyers. Phil presses a few buttons on seeing a flashing light the readout focuses up on the firing ships and he presses another button zooming in on them then he turns to the commander and says"Sir the enemy ships have opened fire on us" Howie nods slightly at that, obviously thinking, "Order the other cruisers to turn ninety degrees, were going to broadside those bastards and make them pay for what they have done." Phil presses a few buttons and a small hologram appears at the bottom of the readout he then presses a button and speaks into a small comm device mounted on the helm station he then says"All cruisers turn ninety degrees"then he presses another button and the hologram fades CS-6542 |The inexperienced Imperial fighter pilots are quick to action slow to thought. In mere moments they cross lines with the heavier Republic fighters. Tie Interceptors using their true advantage ride circles around most of the New Republic fighter craft having only one true adversarry the A-Wings. In maneuvers executed to textbook perfection they gang up on slower NR fighters in groups of two sometimes even four for now taking advantage of the unexpecting NR pilots. CS-9139 | The Mon Calamari Star Cruiser's advance and superior shield system holds up to the barrage coming from the Imperial Fleet. Instead of charging right through into the Imperial formation - the Star Cruisers quickly turn ninety degrees to one side - now most of its deadly and lethal weaponry in range and firing upon finding a target. For now - the Cruisers concentrate their shots on the lighter and much weaker Lancer Frigates - most of the turrets spitting out deadly energy at the Frigates. The RAFs quickly come to the gunships aid as they bear their weaponry onto the Imperial Carrack Cruisers - taking them on. The gunships pull back slightly and continues to do their job - taking out the Imperial fighters while the concussion missiles hit home on the slower and less maneuverable bombers - whittling the numbers down quite a bit. SF-7590 circles around the Tie/I's making quick work of their shieldless craft It has got the throttle full tilt and worries not about one or two laser bolts that brush his shields. Only one hits before its pilot changes course and attacks a near bye Tie/int. SF-3766 screams after a nearby group of ties and while the enemy ships may be more maneuverable their pilots are less experienced. The ties are hammered from behind by the A-wing finding relief only when their persuer is forced to maneuver around fire coming from the heavier ships. SF-4976 rolls slowly as it takes up a position behind a trio of interceptors and cutting them down almost too easily with the help of a wingmate as the inexperience of the squint pilots gets the best of them. A lucky hit causes the fighter to momentarily lose control the wingman moving to aid and vaping a pair of bombers in time to see that the lead b-wing ended up in a better position. Just like young girls playing soccer they pounce on the seemingly out of control NR fighter almost 20 of them. A quick thrust forward and breaking motion as the ship cuts engine thrust causes the ship to flip to face the onslaught still moving now in reverse. The heavy bomber unleashes a torrent of red energy as squadronmates pick off the fighters from behind... it seems that experience an ingenuity overcome 20 fighters almost no time at all... CS-9139 | The other Republic fighters gets into a tangle with the more maneuverable bombers. Using smarter tactics - some of the fighters that are being ganged on lures the eager Interceptor closer and closer to the Gunships without them knowing it. When withing killing range - the quad laser cannons from the gunships quickly open fire fiercely. The RAFs continues to pound away on the Carracks and when a group of unexpecting TIEs fly close by - a pod explodes with fragmentation pieces - cutting up the fighters to pieces. The Calamari cruisers does the same when the fragmentation bombs when NR Fighters aren't at risk. CS-6542 |On the bridge of the comanding destroyer a datapad goes at the head of an ensign with statistics of the battle. "I don't understand " growls the Admiral. Its more like a roar at his XO "Our position is clearly supperior there is no reason for losses like these." Several seconds of thought go by and finally orders are issued. "Orders as follow. All ships maintain formation. The enemy must not break our lines. Repeat formation is to be maintained at all costs. All Carack and Lancer Vessels target the enemy's small capital vesils. The Star Destroyers will focus all fire on the Rebel Cruiser Deliverance." As the orders ring through the fleet seems more on edge formation of the capital ship tightens and the knife plunges into the circular Alliance fleet parting the outer layer of gunships. Massive laser and ion fire begins from the star destroyers their only target taking all of the fire on it's firing side. Most starfighters regroup and engage the enemy fightercraft once more while several squadrons keep a tight net arount the interdictor. Howie says, " All Fighters, finish off the rest of the fighters and then start your attack runs on the Carrack Cruisers, the Assault Frigates will assist you on the runs." "Sithspawn! Get those gunships out of there. Cadet, tell the gunships to pull back and give us support fire. We'll take down the Lancers ourselves." The Commander quickly releases that order, seeing that the Gunships are taking a heavy pounding. Phil presses a few buttons and the readout focuses in on the area where the most fire is going from the Imperial ships to our ships then he presses another button focusing in on the enemy ships and scanning after awhile of examining he turns to the commander and says "They have opened fire upon our ship sir"then he presses another button focusing in on the rebel fleet and he says"Our ships are taking on damage I suggest we somehow distract the fire from the Star Destroyers."then he turns back to the readout screen "We're going to do more than that Cadet, we're going to destroy those damned Lancers and Carrack Cruisers." Commander replies quickly, eyes focused on the view screen. SF-3766 follows its wingman it goes in to obliterate a small entourage of ties. They spiral in avoiding enemy fire and pick them off one by one. A lone tie fighter comes screaming in behind the A-wings weapons blazing. It gets a few shots off which bounce off the deflectors of first one A-wing and then teh other. Turnign almost in unison the NR fighters descend upon the small tie smashing it to smithereens in a hail of laser fire. Phil presses a few buttons and the same hologram comes up in the lower left hand of the screen then he presses a button and says into the comm "All gunships pull back I repeat all gunships pull back!"then he presses the button again and the hologram fades SF-4976 | After deft maneuvering and true aimed shots the field of TIEs thins severely to the point that the heavy bombers have trouble going one on one. So the ship reforms back with another pair of b-wings who are performing a slow loop around to gain distance from the enemy cruisers. The torpedo launchers come online and quickly gain target locks. As the tones pulse out their warnings more sounds resound over the bridge speakers on one of the strike cruisers as another trio and another trio of b-wings form up an take their turn to lock on and unleash a torrent of torpedoes. The lead bomber breaks off with its wingman to engage a few more ties as the rest of the bombers make another loop back around locking onto more cruisers. CS-9139 | With the concentration fire on the lead gunships - their shields quickly fail and begin to take hull damage. They try to pull back but one of them is a little too late escape pods jetisoning out. The other lives to pull back behind the bigger ships but is pretty banged up - half of its weaponry disabled. The other gunships also pull back a bit having done their job of killing off most of the Imperial Fighters. All they do now is fire their quads at any bold Imperial fighters that venture too far ahead and also fire their concussion missiles at the Imperial Capital ships. A counterattack is swiftly implemented as some of the New Republic fighters detatch themselves from killing off the Imperial fighters and begins to make runs on the Carrack Cruiser and the Lancer Frigates in conjunction with the Assault Frigates. Torpedoes are unleashed and heading towards the Carrack and Lancer with hellish speed while the Frigates starts eating away at the shield and armor of the Carrack. The Deliverance seems to be in trouble as the two Star Destroyers focus their fire. However - the Defiance - another Star Cruiser - quickly moves in front of the Deliverance to block the fire coming from the ISD IIs. With the massive firepower that were being poured out from the ISDs - the shields on the Defiance begins to fail and flicker out. Suddenly the shields strengthen again as back up shields come in but the attack is very strong - knocking out the second shield as well - a few explosions lighting up the decks on the Defiance as it tries to slowly roll over. With a vengence - the Deliverance and Peacekeeper swing to one side of the Imperial wedge - assisting the other New Republic ships on taking out the Lancer Frigate and Carrack Cruiser - letting a hellish concentrating of energy focus on those two ships - going to punch a hole right through. "Holy Force... tell the Defiance to pull back and thank the Captain for saving our tails. Get him to pull back and give us support fire. When we finish off the Carrack and Lancer, we're going to swing around and annihilate the Star Destroyers, they will not escape us!" The Commander watches as the Defiance saves the Deliverance at the risk of its own life. Phil presses a button quickly and the hologram immediately springs back up he then pushes a few more buttons dialing into the Defiance he then presses a button and says into the comm"Defiance pull back!I repeat pull back immediately!"then he presses the button again and the hologram fades he then turns to the commander and says"I hope their ok"then he turns back toward the readout screen CS-6542 |The advance of the imperial fleet is halted by the destruction of a Carack Cruiser and it's preceding Lancer. The close quarters of the ships allow the shockwave to be felt my the ships in close vicinity. "Defeat is not an option!" barks the admiral at his crew. "All ships focus fire on the Rebel Cruisers fire at will. Maintain formation and drive forward! Divided they will fall. Proton torpedoes scream from the capital ships as they begin their attack on the cruisers foolishly rather than closing the gap in their ranks. Heavy damage is inflicted to the Defiance and the cruiser explodes in a bright flash. But not without cost. The smaller Imperial ships begin to take damage from the surrounding imperial vesils and the once mighty sea of fighters is reduced to several squadrons that return to defensive postions around the imperial fleet. "Push forward! " once more commands the young man in the Admiral uniform. "Their stupidity will make them week! Our blood is pure we are the dominant race." Phil presses a few buttons and looks very sad and frantically presses more buttons seeing the Defiance is gone and turns to the commander "Oh by the force they took out the defiance!" Howie says, " *Voice angered* Fighters, break up into two formations. Main formation, quickly go through the hole we punched give the Interdictor Hell, then the Carriers. The Gunships and two Frigates will accompany you. The rest of you, lets take out those damn ISDs!" SF-3766 breaks away from the rest of the squadron Ghost 3 in hot pursuit as they descend upon the ISD's guns blazing. On occasion they would take out a remaining tie buzzing around like a pesky fly but their overall direction was towards the ISD's. Their proton torpedoes charges on their approach. As they circle around from teh port of the enemy vessels their bombing runs begin. The lead A-wing charges and lets it's weapons loose followed closely by its wing. The bombs find their mark and crash destructively into the ISD. CS-9139 | The New Republic Task Force reals in anger as the Defiance is breaking apart from the fire the ISDs give - escape pods flying out in numerous directions from the dying ship. The New Republic Task Force takes full advantage of the hole that is now created - fighters surging through accompanied by two Frigates and four gunships. The gunships unleash their fury on the fighters that were trying to screen the Interdictor - slicing them up while the fighters begins their run on the Interdictor. The Frigates are just jammed in there to create havoc amongst the Carriers and Interdictor. On the primary front - the Cruisers quickly unleashes a deadly counter strike on the Imperial Star Destroyer closest to them with the help of two more Frigates. They bring the heavy end of the 'hammer' down with their maneuver - focusing on one destroyer and also using the destroyer their firing on as a screen from the second destroyer and other ships. B-Wings and X-Wings make their runs on the Star Destroyers - lining up torpedo runs while the A-Wings continues to dance amongst the Imperial Fighters that are left in the fight. SF-4976 | After annihilating another fighter the B-wing roars away toward the incomming imperial ships which are busy hammering the deliverance. The other ghost b-wings forming up locking torpedoes again now on the strange looking star destroyer known as the interdictor. With a nervous laughter mixed with commanding tone the leader gives the fire order "Hold on to your butts..." as the heavy bombers swoop from below the majority of the imperial fireline. "Oh... we are going to get revenge on the Defiance, that sithdamned Admiral will wish he never tangled with us, they're going to be wiped out." The Commander growls as his brows furrow with concentration, watching the battle on the view screen. CS-6542 |It is the beginning of the end. Though now completely outclassed with no hope of winning the imperial forces battle courageously to the bitter end. Taking heavy fire from the combined republic fleet the destroyer Avenger explodes in a bright flash as do most of the smaller ships around it. The Interdictor cruiser slows and finally stops as it's shields collapse and engones fail. Meanwhile the fleet commander - Admiral Tronos is shocked into a freeze on his bridge as the sister ship of his destroyer is blown to smitheines. Soon after the assult the interdictor as well as the two escort carriers transmit distress signals and surrender. A cringe forms on the Admirals face "No!" he screams onto his crew. "No!" is once more repeated into a com unit. "We will not surrender! We will not cower! All remaining vessles take target of your choosing and engage at ramming speed! They shall not walk away from this!" A noble speach but it is hear by no one. By this time the fleet's smaller ships are either all destroyed or disabled and one more of the ships - The interdictor - coes in a bright explosion generated by the self destruct mechanism taking with it the swarm of fighters around it. On the view screen the admiral points to the concentration of two of the Republic's assult frigates and a gunship. At last despiration the ship speeds toward them. Only one of the frigates is quick enough to evade as the massive Star Destroyer collides with the other forcing it into the gunship. The violent explosions settle after time leaving some in awe others in tears... It's over the sector is once more quiet. Phil presses a few buttons and sees the imperial armada destroyed on the view screen and cheers and smiles he presses a button on the bottom of the view screen and a hologram appears he presses another button and yells into the comm unit "Weve done it!Weve done it!We got those bastard imperials"then he turns to the commander and cheers and says"Weve done it sir!" Howie nods as the battle finally comes to an end, "Yes Cadet, but don't be too happy. We payed a very heavy price today." Howie says, " *wearly voice* Alright, all ships return and refuel. We'll send out shuttles to pick up any ejected pilots. Ships, assess your damages and pick up the escapes pods from either side. Good job everyone." Phil looks slightly sad thinking about all the destroyed cruisors that happened then he points out the bridge windows and moves his finger over to all the space junk and says"Look at all the debris prehaps we should send a clean up crew out?"he then looks slightly sad remebering the loses Smooth like buttah, Adian says, " I hear that... all remaining B-wings form up and return to base..." SF-3766 swoops triumphantly away from the dying ISDs heading for home as explosions wrack the huge vessels behind it. SF-7590 flies out of the engagement area and heads towards the Deliverance. The tiny A-wing slices thru space as it nears the large Cruiser it balks at approaching the hangar and flies past the bridge doing a roll as it flies by the bridge before looping around the large cruiser and disappearing into the hangar bay leaving those on the bridge to wonder who was that A- wing. Phil speaks into the intercom, "I thank all for what they have done in this battle" Phil speaks into the intercom, "The Commander thanks all of the brave Star fighter pilots for doing a good job and performing well."
